AAS 2015

The Japan Political Studies group has two events at AAS 2015.

First, we will have our business meeting on Saturday, March 28 from 1-2:30 in the Erie Room.  In addition to 自己紹介 and a brief discussion of JPSG business, we will have an informal roundtable discussion of the 2014 Lower House election, led by Robert Pekkanen, Anand Rao, and Takafumi Ohtomo.

Second, we will have a happy hour event on Friday, Friday March 27 at 6:00 at the Billy Goat Tavern on 430 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611.

"Kind of bright lighting, but cheap drinks, super friendly staff, lots of character, good food if you get the drunk munchies, quiet. The character is what makes this. You feel like you're really experiencing Chicago." -Karen Forester

We hope to see you there!

Welcome to the JPSG!

Welcome to the blog of the Japan Political Studies Group.  This group is aimed at scholars with an interest in Japanese politics.  We meet twice annually -- at the annual meetings of the American Political Science Association (APSA) and the Association for Asian Studies (AAS).  In addition to our business meetings, we also have social gatherings at both conferences and we are currently permitted to sponsor one panel at APSA.

We encourage you to subscribe (either through our RSS feed or through the email link to the right), and we hope to see you at a future conference!

Best,
Michael Strausz and Gill Steel
