APSA 2016

Hello,

APSA approaches, and I want to let you know about some Japan Political Studies Group events that might interest you.  Our business meeting will be on Saturday, September 3 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Marriott, Room 303.   This meeting’s theme will be “New Voices in Japanese Politics Research,” and we will have short presentation from three PhD students working on Japan: Jordan Hamzawi (UC Davis), Diana Stanescu (Princeton), and Joshua A. Williams (University of Washington).  All of them are researching interesting topics, and I will make another post before the conference with titles of their presentations.

Following the business meeting, we will head to the nearby Good Dog Bar for drinks and/or dinner (this will probably start around 8 on Saturday night).

The JPSG gets to sponsor (only) one panel at APSA.  This year, that panel is called “Japan’s Security Challenges in a Changing World,” and it will be on Friday, September 2 from 10:00 until 11:30 in the Marriott room 412.

I hope to see you there,
